Illinois Campaign for Better Health Care (grassroots consumer advocacy coalition) seeks experienced organizer to fill the position of Organizing Director to :

1. work with the E.D. overseeing the implementation of 3 organizing campaigns (Medicare/ Medicare Managed Care Monitoring Campaign, Children’s Access and Quality Organizing Project, and Consumer Helplines),
2. coordinate Community Access Project (hospital mergers/community benefits), and
3. assist in securing organizational funding.

Other responsibilities include coordinating policy and staff supervision, assisting in project design and organizational development, and designing public education and outreach materials. Ideal candidates will have experience in health policy, five years of community organizing experience, willingness to travel, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Based in Chicago.
