Marketing Director

Green Century

Founded by respected non-profit environmental advocacy organizations, Green Century offers two no-load mutual funds. Our Funds are designed to achieve competitive returns while putting our investors' money to work for cleaner air, cleaner water, and greater corporate environmental responsibility. Our strategy springs from the belief that companies that play an active role in protecting the environment may be better poised for a profitable future than companies that pollute.

JOB DESCRIPTION

I. MARKETING - 88%:
Marketing Materials: Writing, designing and coordinating the printing and distribution of marketing materials, including brochures, data sheets, ads, letters, press releases, registration and other forms, and other materials on the Funds. Coordinating with Green Century's distributor, Sunstone Financial Group, to ensure all marketing materials meet Sunstone's approval and are filed with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). Tracking and responding to NASD approval and comment letters. Materials also include quarterly shareholder updates and letters to shareholders in annual and semi-annual reports.

PIRG Member Marketing: Coordinating the dissemination of Green Century materials through Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) citizen outreach efforts (canvass, telephone outreach and newsletters). Writing or reviewing all materials and ensuring materials are filed with the NASD when necessary.

Print Ads: Placing ads in progressive, environmental, personal finance and other magazines, newsletters and publications. Negotiating ad deals. Coordinating the development and maintenance of Green Century's web site.

Free Media: Organizing a free media campaign by writing and distributing press releases, making press calls and arranging press conferences.

Organizational Outreach: Organizing an environmental and other non-profit organizations outreach campaign: preparing mailings, making telephone calls and traveling to meet with other environmental and non-profit organizations for the purposes of soliciting organizational investments, inclusion in organizations' 403b and other retirement plans, and arrangements to use other organizations' mailing lists and other outreach vehicles. Also, attending, speaking at, and distributing literature at environmental and socially responsible conferences.

Financial Professionals Outreach: Mailings, follow up telephone calls and meetings with brokers and financial planners. Arranging to make Green Century Funds available through additional mutual fund supermarkets and other potential distribution channels.

Follow Up Existing Prospects: Creating materials and coordinating mailings and other follow up with existing Green Century prospects. Response to Inquires: Fielding requests (800# and email) for prospectus/answering questions from prospects. Completing compliance reports requested by Green Century's distributor.

II. Administrative Duties - 5%:
Proposing and tracking marketing budget as well as copying, faxing, filing, etc. Marketing Analysis reports. Mailing out prospectus packages when there is a high volume of requests for prospectus packages or when Administrative Director is out of the office.

III. Shareholder Advocacy - 7%:
Coordinating shareholder advocacy resolutions and campaigns on behalf of the Green Century Funds. Report on and publicize Green Century's shareholder advocacy campaigns to current shareholders and the media. The Marketing Director will be supervised by senior Green Century staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent writing skills. Organizing, press and public speaking experience. Experience in or aptitude for materials design and production. Knowledge of and commitment to environmental issues. Knowledge of or aptitude for learning mutual fund operations. Once hired, the Marketing Director must study for, take, and pass two examinations given by the NASD on investing and mutual funds.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary ranges from $17,500 to $35,000 depending on experience.
