- International Skye They don't have a Web site, but this Washington, D.C.-based organization is a great resource, specializing in helping philanthropists define their personal giving priorities. They also offer a wide range of programs including family board management, hands-on public service, and retreats. Their phone number is (202) 625-6128.
- The Management Center: Helps nonprofit organizations manage better by
providing consulting services to Northern California nonprofits,
conducting workshops and programs for nonprofit managers and Board
members, and producing a nonprofit job listing and an annual
compensation survey. "Opportunity NOCs," the Center's weekly journal
of job opportunities, lists over 100 paid positions in the nonprofit
sector.
- Wayne Walker , known as Mr. Fixit, offers a free service to the NGO community by e-mail. He has
become known as Mr. Fixit, and has served as an advisor to the NGO
community on such boring things as car repair, irrigation
pumps, generators, solar power, irrigation systems and a whole list of
things that many NGOs know nothing about but have to deal with on a daily
basis.
- The Volunteer Computer Corps: Helps community service organizations with
their computer needs and seeks to supply the home-bound physically
challenged with Internet resources.
