The Fund for Public Interest Research (the Fund) is a national, nonprofit, grassroots advocacy organization that works with progressive organizations including the State PIRGs (Public Interest Research Groups) and the Sierra Club to solve some of the country's most pressing environmental, consumer, and government accountability problems. The Fund has recently launched an exciting new program on behalf of the State PIRGs to significantly increase the financial support of the State PIRGs' existing members and develop new prospective larger donors to add to the State PIRGs' membership. The Fund is currently conducting a national search for bright, creative, and ambitious candidates to potentially join this new Donor Development Program as fundraisers. If you are someone who would enjoy a fast paced, extremely challenging opportunity to further strengthen the nation's leading public interest watchdog group, this may be the right opportunity for you.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing a strategy for donor development including refining existing fundraising methods and experimenting with new ones with the Fund in an effort to best develop the State PIRGs members.
- Executing letter writing, phone calls, and one-on-one meetings with current and prospective higher donor level members of the State PIRGs in an effort to deepen or garner their initial financial support.
- Executing administrative tracking with great attention to detail so that the State PIRGs are able to create outstanding records for each member and prospective member identified.
Qualifications:
- Overachievers with undergraduate or advanced degrees and a proven ability to work independently and creatively.
- Proven fundraising success and/or proven management success.
- Enthusiasm for the potential that new programs like this one has to make a much-needed difference in today's world.
Locations:
Boston MA, Philadelphia PA, Trenton NJ, Washington DC, Denver CO, Seattle WA, Portland OR, San Francisco CA, Los Angeles CA.
Benefits:
Salary ranges from $21,500 to $50,000 depending on experience. An outstanding benefits package includes health care, college and graduate school loan repayment programs for qualified staff, vacation, parental leave, travel and training opportunities.
